The canvas was dusty - frayed at its edge,
No markings were made on its yellowing cloths,
It has sat on the window sill’s beckoning ledge,
Waiting for colours to vibrantly gloss,
Its face bearing witness to apathy’s ghost,
The parasite carving and devouring hosts,
Work obligations have smothered the fun,
And the canvas sits blankly, never begun.
